Wendy Rowe, a healthy summer, eat well

If you own a copy of my book Eat Beautiful, you’ll know that my skin-first approach to beauty includes a diet packed with fresh, healthy, seasonal foods. But healthy doesn’t have to mean boring or bland—that’s why I love highlighting the most nutrient-dense (and delicious) seasonal favorites so you can switch things up every few months. Summer is a great time to incorporate figs into your diet. They’re packed with fiber, so they’re flushed out of your system quickly, and they help detoxify your skin, meaning they’re a great choice if you have psoriasis, acne, or other skin conditions. They also add a touch of natural sweetness to dishes, making them a healthier alternative to processed sugars. Swayed? Check out my delicious fig salad recipe, which is great for light lunches, picnics, or garden parties.
