The Princess of Wales met a young cancer patient at Windsor Castle today. Photos of the meeting were shared on the Prince and Princess of Wales’s social media accounts.
More than The telegraph story by Hannah Furness.
The Princess of Wales has been photographed at work for the first time since finishing her chemotherapy.
The princess was seen hugging 16-year-old Liz Hatton, who suffers from a rare and aggressive form of cancer and was invited to Windsor Castle as part of her “big wish list”.
Liz, a budding photographer, was given rare permission to take behind-the-scenes photographs of an investiture, which were later published by Kensington Palace.
In the photo above left, the Princess is seen hugging the 16-year-old photographer, who was diagnosed with DSRCT (desmoplastic small round cell tumors) in January. In the second photo, you see Liz and her mother, Vicky Robayna (on the far right), her stepfather Aaron (on the left side), and her brother Mateo.
We learn more about Liz’s decision to pursue her photography dreams. The telegraph piece.
He underwent multiple rounds of chemotherapy and abandoned his formal studies to follow his dream of photography.
Earlier this year, he told the BBC: “If I only have about three years to live, what’s the point of doing A-levels?”
A Twitter post from Liz’s mom (PumpkinsandPostIts) explains the wish list Liz created of her photography goals.

Prince William heard about Liz and her wish list through the London Air Ambulance Charity (they are the charity’s sponsor) and invited her to take photos at today’s investiture service.
Liz posted about today’s experience on her Instagram account, Liz Hatton Photography, and her reaction to seeing her photos on the official Kensington Palace account.
She shared her thoughts on the day’s events.
The family also posted on social media about today’s experience.
You can see more of Liz’s photos on her Instagram page here. There is also a GoFundMe account with more information about his treatment and progress. (You may see that your stepfather is listed as a beneficiary; this is because she is not old enough to be the direct beneficiary.)
For today’s gathering, it looks like the princess wore her Roland Mouret Stretch Cady Single-Breasted Blazer ($432 on sale, limited sizes) and her Stretch Cady Wide-Leg Pant ($640, sold out).
The separations were first noted during the visit to Boston in December 2022 and then again at a January 2023 reception at Hampton Court Palace for England’s world champion wheelchair rugby team. They were also seen at a reception in November 2023.
The top seen today has also been worn before, but it is still a UFO (unidentified fashion object). The princess wore her Cassandra Goad Temple of Heaven earrings ($3,407), shown below, when she wore them on previous occasions.
Last week, the Princess also attended a performance by Akram Khan. giselle by the English National Ballet. He posted about ballet on social media.
