18 signs it’s time to get your kidneys tested (kidney problems)

Blood pressure regulation

Kidney tissue, by filtering plasma, controls the level of fluid in the body, produces hormones that constrict blood vessels.

Maintaining bone health

The organs produce the active form of vitamin D and balance the calcium and phosphorus in the body, which makes bones strong.

Stimulates the production of red blood cells

The kidneys produce hormones that stimulate the bone marrow to produce red blood cells, which carry oxygen throughout the body.

Symptoms of kidney problems in adults

Some signs can be symptoms of urinary problems. If at least some of them are detected, you need to take tests to check the kidneys.

1- Puffiness

A swollen face or swollen hands, feet, or lower legs can be signs of serious kidney disease. The formation of edema is associated with the inability of the organ to get rid of the excess volume of fluid or salt accumulating in the body, or, possibly, the loss of protein in the urine, which leads to a decrease in plasma oncotic pressure and the release of fluid into the tissues.

Proteins can attract water, if they are lost in the urine, fluid from the blood goes into the tissues (where there are more proteins and salt). Read more Symptoms of kidney problems on the next page.
